My name is Cinn, short for Cindy, and I'm the owner of Monotonous Diary. For many years, I have dreamed of creating a stationery brand using my own artwork. After multiple failed attempts and getting laid off during the mass tech layoff era, I'm now dedicating all my efforts to improving my art, my creative writing skills, figuring out how to build a brand, and start my own stationery business. My art journey is also documented on YouTube if you're interested in watching or supporting me there.
Why 'Monotonous Diary'?
I chose this name because my life has become so mundane and repetitive. I spend 90% of my days at home doing housework, cooking, writing and creating art. Most of the art I create has some story behind it, whether it was the inspiration, the reference, or the purpose. I'm a big fan of bullet journaling, Hobonichi diaries, and writing down my thoughts, ideas, and imaginative realities in some way or form. The life I have in the real world versus the one described in my diary is very different. This brand name is a tribute to the two lives I live, which reflects who I am as a whole.
What is 'Dear Diary'?
Dear Diary is a series I created for myself as a way to improve my creative writing skills along with my drawing and painting skills. Each log is a short 5-10 min story about something mundane in life, but told in the POV of a girl who spends 90% of her days at home. These stories are narrated by me and accompanied with the painting process video for the sticker sheet. It is my method for building my writing, my art, and my business simultaneously.
